Fire Marshal / Warden Course

Fire annually kills 700 people in the United Kingdom and costs approximately £1,500 million in insurance claims from industry. The effects can be devastating in terms of lives lost, injuries, and damage to property. Most fires are preventable, and can be avoided by those responsible for commercial and other public buildings taking responsibility for and adopting fire safe behaviours and procedures.

Aim
To equip your Fire Wardens with the knowledge of how to prevent a fire at your premises and how to deal with fire emergencies

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course delegates will be trained to:

  • Understand the proactive and reactive role of the Fire Marshal / Warden
  • Understand the importance of regular fire drills
  • Explain how fire and smoke spread within buildings
  • Be aware of all fire safety measures in the workplace
  • Understand their actions in the event of fire and the operation of the fire alarm
  • Have confidence in identifying and operating the correct fire fighting equipment
  • Explain the common causes of fire in the workplace
  • Assist the company in simulated and live emergency evacuation situations
  • Have an understanding of human behaviour in fire
  • Understand the threat of arson
