Why is this training important?

Anyone working in a Supervisory position within a food business is accountable for food safety. It is vital that they have the knowledge and confidence to do their job effectively.

The Qualsafe Awards Supervising Food Safety Level 3 will benefit anyone working in a Supervisory position where food is prepared, cooked and served.

Who needs this qualification?

This course is intended principally for those who are operating in a supervisory role within the catering and hospitality industry and provides progression from the Level 2 Award in Food Safety qualification. It would be suitable for those who are able to demonstrate a wide knowledge of food safety, legislation and effective supervision. They will also be able to take responsibility for the competency of the workforce and for identifying hazards and controls, monitoring controls and taking appropriate corrective action when necessary.

    • Food safety management - HACCP
    • Record keeping / Evaluating food safety controls and procedures

Duration: 3 days

Prerequisites: Recommended understanding and knowledge of basic food hygiene, ideally a Level 2 Award in Food Safety taken within the last 3 years

Assessment: 60 question multi-choice exam paper. Candidates must achieve forty or more correct answers to be awarded the Qualsafe Awards Level 3 Award in Food Safety

Validity: Qualsafe recommend refresher training every 3 years
